During the recent years, the process of blast-furnace smelting has been greatly improved, thus giving start to production of several grades of pig iron with addition of various components. The iron is used to alloy special steels, iron and steel casts. It is supplied in the form of 45-kg ingots with one or two notches, and 18-kg ingots without notches. OAO CMZ specialists have developed a basic technology of producing vanadium and complex-alloyed irons, with allowance made for the specifics of titanium oxide and vanadium reduction.
