The ferroalloy production operation (workshop) is the final link of the factory’s vanadium process stage, producing the commercial vanadium pentoxide according to STP 115-26-2004 standard, ferrovanadium according to GOST 27130-94 standard, and the nitrided ferrovanadium according to TU 14-115-24-96 specification.
Workshop Structure.
The ferroalloy workshop consists of the following interlinked process structures:
- Production of the commercial vanadium pentoxide located in the group of the chemical division buildings, including the following process stages:
- Charge preparation – preparing vanadium slag with obtaining unburned charge.
- Annealing – high-temperature oxidizing roasting of charge.
- Hydrochemical – water and sulphuric acid treatment of roasted charge converting vanadium into a solution and subsequently throwing the vanadium pentoxide residue out of the solutions.
- Production of ferrovanadium of various grades, including the nitrided ferrovanadium, located in the electrometallurgical division’s melting building;
- Lime production located in the lime calcining division’s group of buildings.
- Auxiliary production – a container shop producing packing spools for ferrovanadium; a protective coating shop; a turning shop.
