The Chusovoy Metallurgical Works is an enterprise with complete metallurgical cycle – from the Kachkanar titanomagnetite crude ore to finished products.  Thus, the factory has a blast-furnace plant, a steelmaking duplex shop, two rolling-mill shops, a ferroalloy shop, an automotive spring shop, and two auxiliary shops.

The blast-furnace plant includes two blast furnaces – No. 1 and No. 2 with a capacity of 225 m3 and 1,033 m3 producing 130 kt and 600 kt of vanadium cast iron per annum, respectively.  Vanadium cast iron is forwarded to the duplex shop, which includes a converter section and an open-hearth section.  The converter section outfitted with a 450 t mixer and three 22 t converters is used to convert vanadium cast iron into a semi-finished product and converter vanadium slag.

The open-hearth section has two blast furnaces with a capacity of 270 t each.  Once it has been blown through in the converter section, the semi-finished product proceeds to the open-hearth section to the casting machine.  The open-hearth section makes 500 kt/a of steel.  The entire steel output is processed in two rolling-mill shops.  The rolling-mill shops are outfitted with an 800 blank production mill, a 550 medium-section mill, and 250 and 370 small-section mills.

The vanadium slag generated in the converter section is processed in the ferroalloy shop.  The ferroalloy shop has two sections: chemical and electrometallurgical.  The chemical section subjects the vanadium slag to hydrometallurgical processing to obtain the commercial vanadium pentoxide.  The electrometallurgical section is used to obtain ferrovanadium of ordinary grades ФВД40 (FVD50) and ФВД50 (FVD50) in electric furnaces on the basis of the silicoaluminothermic method and the nitrided ferrovanadium ФВД45Н10Мн3 (FVD45N10Mn3) by self-spreading high-temperature synthesis (SHS).

The automotive spring shop specializes in making automotive springs for all domestic vehicle brands, including few-plate (parabolic) springs and springs made of low hardness penetration steels.  The shop receives blanks for production from the 370 mill.
